Spring at the Loch - A Fashion Affair

April 3, 2025 .Clothology:135 will be showcasing the newest arrivals from their store.   Spring fashion is all about embracing lightness, freshness, and  versatility while transitioning from the chill of winter to the warmth  of spring. They will be showing beautiful prints, stunning color, styles  for every personality.  At Clothology:135 the focus on the "study of  YOUR style".  Clothology:135 wants to embrace the looks that make  you....you!  It will be a fun Fashion Affair!!  Pam Burton, founder of Clothology:135, has a love of fashion &  helping other women find clothing that makes them feel good about  themselves!   Clothology:135 is a local, small, woman-owned business that appreciates  your support.

March 6, 2025.   "A Place for Everything: The Power of Assigning a Home to Your  Belongings"  Do you ever feel frustrated searching for everyday items like keys or  chargers?  This session will explore how assigning a designated place  for your belongings can simplify your routines and create a more  peaceful space.  You'll learn practical strategies to organize your home  in a way that works for you and keeps everything in its place.  Small  changes can make a big difference -- starting with finding a home for  what matters!   Julia Scott, owner of Efficiently Neat Professional Organizing, is a  mom, wife, & business owner who, like many others, is trying to  balance it all!    Efficiently Neat is a Professional Organizing company based out of  Kansas City, specializing in helping you simplify your space by  incorporating efficient systems & processes to ultimately help give  you your life back!  

It's all about Love

February 6, 2025.      Back by Popular Demand - Ginger Rothhaas!!    Ginger, author of Being Human and founder of Compassion Fix, will join  us again to explore ways to make being human a little easier.  This  time, she will be talking about love - the types of love we have as  humans and how to better love ourselves and others.  This will be an  interactive fun conversation with practical tools and tips to apply to  your life immediately for more love all around.   While earning her Master's of Theology and  Master's of Divinity, Ginger  found her calling: to teach others to see their worthiness, find their  purpose, improve their relationships, and live up to their full  potential.   Her focus is improving relationships that will lead to a  life of full potential.  Ginger will have her book, Being Human - 150 Practices to Make it  Easier, available to purchase at the meeting.

October 3, 2024. Robert Hughes has dedicated his life to the art and science of  beekeeping. He began beekeeping over 57 years ago in Soldier, KS. Over  the decades, his passion for beekeeping has only deepened, leading him  to become a trusted expert in his community.  Robert is the founder of  BEEKEEPERS .COM, Kansas City's only full service beekeeping store. With a  wealth of knowledge he has taught beekeeping classes at JCCC for over  30 years. Robert is known for his generosity in sharing wisdom, advice,  and encouragement. Bob continues to be a beacon of knowledge and  inspiration in the world of beekeeping.  Jessica Popp is a passionate beekeeper dedicated to nurturing bees and  bee enthusiasts alike. Jess is Vice President of BEEKEEPERS .COM, the  assistant teacher of  beginning beekeeping at JCCC, is the Editor for  Midwestern Beekeepers Association and currently manages over 30 hives.  With her expertise, warmth, and dedication to the world of bees, Jess  continues to make a sweet difference in her community and beyond.

 September 5, 2024. Blake Tuohy, decorator and designer from The Fabulous Fern in Olathe,  KS, will be demonstrating different techniques for styling outdoor  planters for Fall, Christmas, and Winter.  Using a variety of pine  branches, berries, ornaments, flowers, and lights, Blake will show us  how each planter can be decorated uniquely to fit your personal style.   With weather resistant products that retain their value, Blake  will  give you creative ideas to use for years.   

Sherri Gallick and the Missouri House of Representatives

 August 1, 2024. Representative Sherri Gallick is responsible for portions of Cass and  Bates counties (District 62) in the Missouri House of Representatives.  She was elected to her first two-year term in November 2022.   Sherri will provide an overview of  the legislative session and how a  bill progresses, discuss what it's like to be in Missouri House of  Representatives and the importance of relationships to get bills  referred.  She will also review the bills she sponsored and co-sponsored  that have been signed into law as well as a few priority bills she will  file next year.

Personal Safety - Be the Wrong Person

June 6, 2024.  Lou Van Horn will discuss personal safety principles. He will address  how to prevent yourself from being a victim and demonstrate certain  defense techniques and tools.    A slideshow will accompany the presentation with a question and answer  session following.            You don’t want to miss this informative discussion! 

Bluebirds of Happiness

May 2,2024.      Why is the Bluebird the State Bird of Missouri?   Larry Dobson, longtime member of the Missouri Bluebird Society, will  answer this question.   He'll discuss how to attract bluebirds, which  plants provide food sources for them, and how to build a bluebird house.    Come to learn about this amazing & beautiful bird living right here  in Loch Lloyd.  You'll have a chance to be the lucky winner of a  beautiful bluebird house!!

April 4, 2024.     Ginger Rothhaas, is a coach, writer, consultant and speaker. She will  present her recently released book: Being HUMAN - 150 Practices to Make  it Easier.  Ginger earned a degree in Theology where she found her calling teaching  others valuable lessons in life.  Her focus is improving relationships  that will lead to a life of full potential.  Ginger will do a book signing for the Garden Club.  Come and learn  Ginger’s secrets for a life worth living.

March 7,2024 .  After some cold winter days, Erin Busenhart, from Family Tree Nursery,  will return to ‘Wake Up Spring’.  You may remember Erin from our  September meeting when she presented suggestions for Fall décor.  Today,  she’ll give us Spring décor  ideas by planting a spring flower container that will transition into summer. One lucky Loch Lloyd Home  & Garden Club member will win the container she creates!

Oh what fun it is! 

The final meeting of 2023 is one to remember!  Starting with a specialty cocktail and a drink demo by Kristine, we celebrate another year gone by while socializing with friends.  


We decorate gingerbread houses (supplies provided), and the judges will select the best one for a prize!

We welcomed Tracy Shiner, chocolatier and owner of CST Sweets.  CST Sweets is located in Basehor, Kansas where her company was founded on the principles of family and love.     Ms. Shiner presented her melt-in-your-mouth treats to the members and guests  of the Loch Lloyd Home and Garden Club. Her company produces chocolates,  toffees, brittles, popcorn, biscotti cookies, caramels, and turtles,  just to name a few.     Delicious samples were passed around at the tables.    CST Sweets can create beautiful and delicious gift baskets for the  upcoming holidays.

If you need design assistance and help planting,  Family Tree Nursery can create custom pots for your entryways, outdoors  or indoor areas.

  The LLH&GC Philanthropy Committee brings to you, Dr. Rodney Hammer,  founder of REHOPE.  REHOPE provides help and housing to women and children who are survivors  of sex trafficking. The 17-acre REHOPE in rural Cass County provides  safe, long-term housing, trauma therapy, healing programs, education  services, job preparation assistance, and support to reenter society.

 Jen Zingg is a 500 hr certified Yoga Practitioner with an emphasis  on guiding self-healing fascia release techniques, restorative yoga,  yoga fundamentals, and mindful movement. She completed a Masters degree  in Marriage and Family Therapy and also has a background as a personal  trainer.

We learned all about how to cut and style different cheeses, meats, veggies  and fruits to create an amazing charcuterie board!  


We all teamed up to make our own for the competition.  Every competition requires judging so a winning team was selected.  

This was a great hands-on event allowing us to connect with old friends and meet new friends within our Home and Garden  Club.

June 3 2021,  Starting with our first speaker from Suburban Lawn & Garden, Sean Holland.  Sean gave an informative presentation about how to plant, grow, and cultivate herbs at home.  


Next, Laura Laiben, owner, "The Culinary Center of Kansas City" and Chef Jill Garcia Schmidt gave us a live cooking lesson using a delicious herb marinade for bite-size steak appetizers and a fabulous sauce for dipping.  Recipes were shared!

December 5, 2019.   We had a great time getting ready for the holidays!  We watched an exciting demonstration of decorating, updating, and reinventing four trees for the Christmas season.  Each tree was uniquely decorated in a different style.  Next, a demonstration and tasting of four delicious holiday cocktails got everyone in the holiday "spirit."  Recipes were shared.  A cookie exchange followed the meeting. A great time was had by all!r great stories to help turn potential customers into loyal ones.
